AMBOSELI: A 37 year old woman has died after she was attacked with a knife during a domestic dispute in the Amboseli area of Dagoretti, Nairobi.
According to a police report from Muthangari Police Station, the incident was initially reported on Thursday by Benson Chebii, who claimed he had returned home from work at around 5:00 a.m. and found an unknown man inside his house with his wife.
He alleged that the unidentified man stabbed him on the right hand before fatally attacking his wife, Violet Jepkemoi.
However, investigations by officers from Muthangari Police Station and detectives from the Dagoretti DCI established a different account of events.
Police say preliminary findings indicate that Chebii assaulted his wife with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Neighbors rushed Jepkemoi to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
Her body, which police said had multiple stab wounds to the head, chest and ribs, has been preserved at the hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
Crime scene personnel from Dagoretti processed the scene, while Chebii was later arrested and is being held at Muthangari Police Station as investigations continue.
