A 23-year-old woman has been arrested in Likoni, Mombasa County, after allegedly pouring boiling tea on her husband during a domestic altercation, leaving him with burn injuries.
According to a report filed at Likoni Police Station, the incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Kiwerera area following a domestic disagreement at their home.
The victim, Fred Ouma, 25, reported the matter to police at around 11:20 a.m., stating that his wife had assaulted him using hot tea during the dispute.
Police officers who responded to the scene confirmed that the injured man had already been taken to Amani Dispensary for medical attention.
The suspect, identified as Sharon Achieng, 23, was later arrested and taken into custody pending further investigations and possible legal action.
Authorities indicated that preliminary findings point to ongoing domestic disagreements as the possible trigger for the incident.
Medical staff at the facility reported that the victim is in stable condition while receiving treatment for burn injuries sustained during the attack.
