Two batteries worth Sh 20,000 were stolen from a lorry vehicle belonging to officers from Garissa police station on Monday in Githurai,Kiambu county
The officers had come for a police sports competition that was officially launched by Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat at Ulinzi sports complex today.
According to a report filed to police,it was stated that the lorry had ferried officers to Nairobi for the sports competition and had parked their GK lorry registration number GKB 890Z at the Githurai Sub-County Government offices near the county government premises on the evening of May 25.
However, upon returning to the vehicle on May 26 at around 6:00 a.m., they discovered that two batteries had been stolen from the lorry.
The stolen batteries are estimated to be worth Sh 20,000.
Officers from DCI attached to Githurai visited and processed the scene as investigations into the theft continue.
