Police in Meru County have arrested a man accused of allegedly defiiling his girlfriend daughter aged six.
The incident waa reported in Juakali area of Imenti North,Meru county.
According to a police report, the incident was reported on Thursday by Kiorone Assistant Chief Purity Kendi after the girl’s mother informed her that she had left her daughter at her boyfriend’s house at around 9:00 a.m.while she went for casual work.
When she returned home, the girl disclosed to her that her boyfriend, identified as Muthomi, had undressed and sexually assaulted her.
The survivor was escorted to Nairobi Women’s Hospital for medical examination and treatment, while the suspect was arrested and taken to Meru Police Station.
Police said the suspect is expected to be arraigned in court to face charges related to the alleged sexual offence.
Investigations are ongoing, with officers attached to the Gender Desk at Meru Police Station handling the case.
