SPOTLIGHT ON GBV:School Watchman Arrested Over Defilement Rape of Three Children in Kisii

A 64 year old watchman has been arrested in Kisii County over allegations that he sexually assaulted three minors who were attending classes at a local primary school.

According to police, the three girls aged 12 reported the matter at Kisii Central Police Station on Saturday while accompanied by their parents.

The complainants, who are students at Otamba Comprehensive School, alleged that the suspect lured them with ripe bananas before defiling them on separate occasions between May 1 and July 17, 2026.

Police identified the suspect as Solomon Momaima Gesore, a watchman at the school.

The victims were issued with P3 forms and referred to hospital for medical examination and treatment as investigations commenced.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Kisii Central Police Station pending his arraignment in court on Monday.
