A 19 year old woman died after falling from the fifth floor of a residential apartment building in the Kamatuta area of Kayole, Nairobi, in an incident now under police investigation.
According to a report filed at Obama Police Station, the incident occurred on Saturday evening.
A resident, Jairus Ogochi, reported hearing a loud bang from the apartment building and initially suspected it was caused by an electrical fault.
On rushing to the scene, he found the young woman lying on the ground floor in a pool of blood.
Police officers who responded identified the deceased as Beraka Wambui.
Preliminary investigations indicate that she had allegedly argued with her boyfriend moments before the fatal fall from the fifth floor.
She sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested the deceased’s boyfriend, Anthony Njoroge Njuguna, 22, who is being held in custody to assist detectives with investigations.
