A major electronics theft syndicate operating within Nairobi has been dismantled after detectives recovered 133 stolen 55-inch TCL smart television sets valued at Sh 9,777,600 and arrested several key suspects linked to the crime.
According to police reports from Embakasi Police Station, the breakthrough followed investigations into a go-down breaking and stealing incident earlier reported at Mombasa Road Police Station yesterday.
The stolen televisions belonged to Gulshn Traders Ltd and had been taken from Atlantis Business Park.
Police had initially arrested twelve suspects who were allegedly waiting to make a second trip to transport the stolen goods.

Detectives from DCI Embakasi intensified investigations and identified one Dancan Olouch Okongo as the alleged middleman coordinating between the loaders and the suspected masterminds behind the operation.
Okongo was later traced to Githurai 44, where detectives arrested him while he was allegedly unpacking a brand-new 55-inch TCL television set. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly led officers to a residence located at Upper Manyatta Second Avenue in Ruai Sub County, said to belong to one Daniel Kimani Muia.
Upon searching the premises, detectives recovered 129 television sets hidden inside the main house and another four sets inside a detached servant’s quarter within the compound.
The scene was processed before officers mounted an ambush that resulted in the arrest of Dan Opiyo Oketch, a 46 year-old businessman, who reportedly drove into the compound accompanied by Dennis Mbugua Ndungu alias Hakim Mbugua, the 36 year-old son of the alleged homeowner.
Police stated that the two were positively identified by Okongo as accomplices in the theft syndicate.
Detectives also impounded a Nissan Wingroad registration number KCD 287M, which was being driven by Dan Opiyo Oketch at the time of the arrest.
All suspects were escorted to Embakasi Police Station pending arraignment as detectives continue pursuing other individuals believed to be connected to the high-value theft ring.
