A 54 year old man has been beaten to death after he was reportedly found inside a cattle shed in Cheptais committing an unnatural act with a cow.
The incident was reported at Cheptais Police Station in the morning after Ngachi area village elder Jason Ismael Bucheche informed police that a body had been spotted lying by the roadside near Spicas Hospital in Ngachi Village, Cheptais Sub-location.
Police officers who visited the scene found the body of Peter Mboya lying on a footpath.
The body had bruises on the head, lips and both legs, with investigators suspecting the injuries were inflicted using a blunt object.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased had allegedly been found inside the cattle shed of one Tito Chemiat before an assault reportedly occurred.
Detectives believe the body may have been moved from the original scene since there were no signs of struggle where it was recovered.
The suspect, Tito Chemiat, fled after the incident and police have launched a manhunt to trace and arrest him.
The scene was processed by detectives and the body moved to Delight Hospital Mortuary in Kimilili for preservation and postmortem examination as investigations continue.
