Two Burundian nationals were rescued by police and rushed to hospital after they were allegedly assaulted by members of the public following a dispute linked to a love triangle in Thika West, Kiambu County.
The incident occurred at Mbombolulu in the Kisii Area.
They were identified as Isaac Sasavela 28 and George Sengiman 32.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the two men became involved in a quarrel over a woman living within the area where the incident occurred.
Police said the disagreement escalated into a disturbance and commotion at the premises, attracting the attention of local residents.
Members of the public allegedly turned against the two men and assaulted them.
Isaac sustained head injuries and was bleeding from the affected area, while George suffered head injuries and swelling on the head and face.
Officers from Makongeni Police Station responded to the report, rescued the victims and rushed them to Thika Level 5 Hospital for treatment.
